Madison Church of Christ’s Kids Give Program Donates Over $5,000 to Foster House Project

The children of Madison Church of Christ in Madison, Alabama, raised over $5,000 for Foster House Project during the second quarter of 2025. The donation came through the church’s Kids Give program, which teaches children about giving by letting them choose and support real causes in their community.

We are kicking off 2025 with our first event in conjunction with Slim Chickens in Towne Madison. If you visit them between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM on Thursday January 30th and mention Foster House Project, they will donate 15% of the cost of your order to our cause to support foster children in Madison County.

Fundraiser Our first annual fundraiser was a success. We spent time with old and new friends, all sharing hope and encouragement for what the Foster House can be. There was great food, an inspiring message, and awesome music that set the perfect tone for the evening. We had 54 guests in attendance. After expenses, we collected over $4,500 in donations. I (Tony) cannot express how excited and encouraged I was by the outpouring of support. Below is a list of some of the folks we want to thank. This list is not exhaustive because I know I have overlooked someone.

Join us for an inspiring evening on November 2, 2024, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. We’re raising funds to purchase a home that will provide safe, loving care for children entering the foster care system. Your support will help create a place where children can find comfort and kindness during a difficult time.

In 2023 we saw the Foster House Project grow from a spark of “what if” into a real mission to bring comfort to children entering the foster care system. We are encouraged by the response we get everywhere we go. Once people understand the problem, they ask “How can I help?” Our current goal is our biggest: we must raise money to buy or build a house here in Madison County for this dream to become reality.

We are excited to introduce the Foster House Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the trauma associated with the transition into foster care by offering a nurturing environment where the immediate needs of these vulnerable children are met. We want to change how a child first experiences foster care. We believe that every child deserves a loving, welcoming, and secure environment during this critical time in their lives.

(IRC) Section 501(c)(3) Status Granted!

With an elated heart, full of praise to God, we would like you all to know that the IRS has declared the Foster House Project a 501(c)(3) nonprofit! The typical timeline for approval is 6-12 months — ours took just over 5 weeks.

Our wonderful accountant Carol has donated her time to the cause, and is working on the tax-exempt application with us. Read the update on our 501(c)(3) status approval.

Incorporation Paperwork Received from the State The paperwork is back from the state and we exist. Next steps center around the tax-exempt process and starting to do what work we can at this point.
